  2. I love these blankets, I have made several as well. I love the gray and blue fleece, do you happen to know where you bought it??

    Thanks

      1. Hi Susan,

As you are cutting your “tie” pieces, the V shape in the corners will naturally form. No need to cut them beforehand.

Let me know if you have any more questions! And I would LOVE to see your finished project!

  3. I have been making these for my 3 kids. Each will get a blanket of their favorite football team. I also went to Joanns to get the fleece 50% during the Thanksgiving weekend. I cannot wait for them to open these on Christmas day so I can get mine back!!!

    1. Awesome, Josephine! So glad to hear that the tutorial helped you out this year.

And I know what you mean about making these in order to get your own back. Lol!

      Merry Christmas,

  5. Hi, nice blog. The good creativity is shown by you. It’s a good idea to give simple blanket new and stylish looks. Nice example of creativity. Keep sharing more creative ideas like this.

  6. these are so much fun to make! My daughter chose a pattern with cute alpacas wearing fancy saddles for her blanket πŸ™‚

    1. I almost chose the llamas wearing saddles. And beautiful feathers for the other side. Finished my blanket today. I’ve never made a tie blanket. I usually use my sewing machine. So this was nice. Always great to switch things up.

  7. Hi!
I love these blankets and have made a few. How do you prevent the ties from coming undone with EVERY wash?
    Thanks!
    Leia

    1. Hi Leia, I usually just retie the ones that come undone when I find them. When I first make the blanket I tie REALLY TIGHT so they stay put!

      1. I have the fabrics to make 2 of these blankets. Your tutorial explains the process well. My question is about tying the cut strands together. Do you tie just once (hard for me to explain), or are you actually creating a square knot?

  8. I love how easy these blankets are to make! They’re the perfect DIY for this time of year, too. Thanks for linking up with Merry Monday – I’ll be featuring your DIY blanket at our upcoming party.

  9. So you think this could be made with more than two pieces of fleece? My sister gets extra cold in the winter and the thicker the blanket the better.

  10. I’ve never made one of these before. Since you’re tying 2 pieces of fabric together do you think I could stuff it and make a dog bed out of it?

    1. Absolutely! I am working towards a video on how to do that. I am going to be using a large pillow to make it soft. The post should be up in a couple of weeks. πŸ™‚
