Sometimes when it comes to crafting and creating, the image you have in your mind, does not quite come out in your finished product. That sure was the case here. I tried all kinds of paint, all kinds of transfer techniques, and all kinds of mediums. None worked in the way I wanted them to. Until I broke down and bought a Silhouette CAMEO 3 Starter Bundle. And, oh my goodness, I… Read More
When we went out to cut our tree down last weekend, my vision was for a tall, well-branched tree with lots of room for ornaments. You know, one of those magazine-worthy trees. It was an accident that we channeled Charlie Brown when we picked the one we cut down! It’s been several years since my little family has cut down a tree. Being on my own, a lack of a truck to transport a tree got in the way of doing what I love to do each year. But this year is different! We purchased our tree-cutting permit (only $10… Read More

Well this is one of those situations that really screams “reality”! When I was making these adorable Cinnamon Stars I shot my photos and set aside my camera. The next day I used my camera to shoot a video tutorial, and guess what I did after that? I deleted my cinnamon stars tutorial pictures. All of them! Lucky for me, this is a very simple little craft to make, so I think that text directions will be just fine. Be sure to email me if you have any questions about how to make these! GATHER YOUR MATERIALS: 1 cup cinnamon, 1 cup… Read More

It’s a no-sew way to give a fun, personalized gift to someone who likes to be cozy in the winter (and that is pretty much everyone!). I always buy my fleece at Joann’s when it is 50% off. The lines are generally long at the time, but the price is right so it’s worth it. If you wait until a week or so before Christmas the price generally drops to 60% for at least a day or… Read More

Hi, friends! If you are like me, you will be having a DIY Christmas! It’s a tradition for me to create a “theme” in my house, but I know that for some people it’s tough to know how to begin or where to find inspiration. For me, I always start with a color. I am still a bit unsure, but I am thinking a Candyland Christmas, complete with pinks, golds and aquas, will be my direction for this year. A white tree is also on my mind to complete the look. All of the pinks and copper-y golds that I keep… Read More
