DIY FARMHOUSE KITCHEN TABLE
During the process of moving, I had to sell my kitchen table because it was simply too big for my new house. It was cute and farmhouse-y, but it would have totally taken over my dining area space and that wasn’t an option. So, a DIY farmhouse kitchen table is in order, and I am so excited about it!
The Rogue Engineer is an awesome website with tons of great ideas and tutorials, and that is where I found my table plans. The table on the website is still a bit large for my dining space, so I am making it smaller to fit better. Basically I love the farmhouse style, but my house is not farmhouse sized!
A friend of mine is helping me make the table, but I am doing much of the actual work. It’s going to be a learning experience for me, and hopefully more wood projects will be in my future. I am pretty proud to say that I can now use a table saw and a chop saw effectively.
To be honest any wood working tool that plugs in and has a saw attached scares the crud out of me. My fingers need to stay attached to my hand! But that is where good safety practices come into play.
This week I will be sanding and painting the table, so hopefully sometime next week I will have some finished pictures to show you. Of course, I will also need to refinish the dining chairs that I picked up at a yard sale this past weekend also.
A DIY farmhouse kitchen table is one of those things that saves money, but takes lots of time!
What about you? Do have any projects you are working on? I would love to hear about them in the comments!
Have a great day, friends!
