PILLOWS FARMHOUSE STYLE
My sewing machine just returned from a “repair and refresh” retreat, so it was a perfect time to sew some Pillows Farmhouse Style!
Once these cuties are cut out they are amazingly fast to sew up. I LOVE projects like that: quick and easy and good-lookin’!
There are actually two parts to these pillow covers: an inner envelope pillow-cover, plus the outer tied-up pillow-cover. Both are removable and washable. Also, they are easy to make for different pillow-insert sizes.
I made three sets because I wanted to have some fun with fabric, plus I wanted to make sure that the pattern worked well. I am a big believer in the second time around when it comes to making things (you can see that in action when I re-sanded my dining table!).
My living room is in need of some new pillows since the gray couch I bought came with black pillows. Not really feeling the black vibe…
This weekend I will head to the fabric shop to find some grey ticking to make some that match my house better. The dark blue is great, but not the color I want. If I could find some grey gingham check, I would pretty much be in heaven. Gingham is the best! Next to polka dots, of course!
I am thinking of making up a tutorial for these pillows. Is anyone interested in making some Pillows Farmhouse Style? These are simple and are perfect for a first project, or a quick project for someone more experienced. Of course, you can use any style of fabric to achieve the look you want. You don’t have to stick to Farmhouse!
Any medium-weight quilting cotton would work great to make these pillows, or a light-weight home decor fabric. You don’t want to go too heavy-weight simply because there are a couple of thick seams to sew over. My machine is a great one, but it tends to groan when the thickness is too much.
Have a wonderful day, friends!
