FALLING INTO FALL: GETTING ORGANIZED
Can you feel it in the air? Even though it’s still August, cooler days are just around the corner. And I can feel myself falling into fall.
I love the relaxed, up-in-the-air days of summer. Do what you want. Have fun. Soak in the sun.
Love it!
But as the summer comes to a close I can definitely feel myself longing for something different. A bit more direction. A list of things-to-do. A schedule.
Yep, I am in the mood to get organized.
Probably my biggest change is simply to get back on a schedule. Doing things on particular days and setting goals. Except for my business, life has been lived at random lately. Which has been fine, but it is getting old. The lazy days of summer are becoming the overwhelming days of summer.
Laundry has been piling up and then (embarrassingly) we have been living out of laundry baskets of clean clothes for days.
Housecleaning? What’s that?
Grocery shopping on a particular day of the week?
Weekends have turned into a catch-all for getting things done.
And I don’t like it anymore.
My weekdays are shaping up once again and I have things written down. Chores are assigned and are actually getting finished (the wood floors are thanking me!). Clean laundry was put away this week on the same day it was washed (gasp!).
Now fall can start and my weekends will once again be free. Which is great because I really do find that the cooler autumn days are perfect for getting outside and hiking and playing. Here in Colorado the outdoors beckons from all directions, and there is so much to be seen. And since packing and moving took so much of our energy this summer, our fall is going to be full of fun and adventure.
Or else!
How about you? How are you falling into fall? Are you making any changes to your schedule?
I hear you, Randi! With my daughter getting married in two weeks, it has been crazy around here. After the wedding, my last year of homeschooling starts and I need to get back into a better routine. Glad to see you are doing well and settling into your new life.
