TEN THINGS
Hello, Friends! I have been struggling with not feeling well for several days now, so I thought I would check in with a simple post, just to say “hi”! I am on the mend, but my couch and bed have been my retreats for too long now. Can I just say that I am bored? And I am ready to feel 100% again!
So, I thought it a good time to fill you in on TEN THINGS about my life right now:
ONE: I am taking a break from home remodeling projects to focus and a fun new thing: Simply Vintage Market. Daniel and I will are going to have a booth at a market in March and I can’t wait! My focus will now change from the house and move towards re-purposing furniture and making handmade goods to sell. I am both excited and nervous. Lots of goods need to be made!
TWO: Fall is once again my favorite season. Each year when summer rolls around I start thinking that it’s my favorite season, but once fall steps in I remember my true loves: warm-ish days, cool nights, sweaters, and the changing leaves.
THREE: I love football season! It’s great to watch the game, eat fun snacks and wear my Broncos shoes that my daughter made me last year:
FOUR: Recently I bought a pile of antlers—yes, antlers!—at a yard sale, and I intend to decorate them up for Vintage Market. While I was at the craft store the other day with my cart bursting at the seams with flowers to use with the antlers, I realized that I have never in my life worked with flowers. Or antlers. And I can’t decide if going all in when I don’t know what I am doing is a good trait, or a bad trait. I am going to stick with “good”!
FIVE: This upcoming weekend is my birthday. A significant birthday. And it’s making me feel old. How come the calendar says I am old, but my body and mind say otherwise? BTW, I don’t believe in acting my age!
SIX: I went a couple of weeks ago with a friend to see a Def Leppard concert. Oh my goodness, it was the best show I have ever been too. Those guys are still rocking the stage, for sure! And going to concerts is something that I can always use more of in my life. That and dancing!
SEVEN: My new house has a ton of trees in the yard. And I thinking that I will be raking up a lot of leaves this year. Raking up leaves has never been something that I have done much of, so I am going to invest in a leaf blower. I like power tools!
EIGHT: I talk to my dog during the day. I ask him things like “what should we have for lunch?” and “what should we do now?” What can I say? I work at home and I am the only one on staff. He is a good companion for my quiet days!
NINE: Next summer I want to go on a vacation for sure. This summer I couldn’t make it happen because of our move, but I do feel a bit like I missed something important. I think New York City or Seattle sounds like good destinations.
TEN: Waking up in the morning and drinking my first cup of coffee is one of my favorite things. It’s quiet, it’s just me, and the first cup tastes so good. It’s the little things in life, don’t you think?
