COZY-ING UP FOR FALL
So, is it just me, or are you cozy-ing up for fall too?
It seems time to come indoors and ready the house to be occupied a lot more. And, of course, this means making things cozy and warm!
One of the best things about cooler weather is bringing out all of my quilts. I have them everywhere! In the past I owned a fabric store, and I have taught quilting and sewing classes, so as you might imagine, I have a lot of fabric decor in my home. But I love it, since it’s my pop of color against my more neutral furniture and walls.
I am presently loving the back of my couch every time I see it. I love it!
Quilts are ridiculously cozy in a stack…just sitting there waiting to be used (and these ones are used a bunch!). In fact, I have to be careful to not get frustrated about folding these up all the time.
After all, why put a quilt out if it can’t be used?
Another way I like to cozy up for fall is to make fun, hot drinks. Why have plain hot chocolate when you can add some whipped cream? And a sprinkle of cinnamon?
Your kids will love it if you make creamy cups of chocolate for them after school. Somehow this makes doing homework a little less stressful!
Caramel in your coffee? Yes, please! Simply add a bit of caramel ice cream topping to your hot coffee and then drink. Obviously, you could also add some of that whipped cream that you have sitting there for hot chocolate (you can thank me later!).
Unwanted holiday pounds, here we come!

We’re in the midst of a few home projects here, so it’s hard for me to decorate this year. BUT, I am all about the yummy drinks and cozy blankets!!
Home projects always push out decorating, but it’s so fun when things are done! Decorating days are ahead of you, Laura!

I have a handful of things I set out around the house every fall. My kitchen table centerpiece, piano top and mantle all getti a mini make-over. It helps me remember the seasons have changed because here in So Cal it’s hard to tell usually!

I remember So Cal in the fall! Since moving away I have become a lover of the seasons. The only one I am not very fond of is winter, just because it can be so bleak without leaves and grass. Other than that I love the newness of each season. They each have their own beauty, for sure!
