FALL FAMILY FUN
The leaves are changing, the days are getting shorter, but the sun is still shining….and that means it’s time for some Fall Family Fun!
Fall is the perfect time to get outside because the weather is generally nice and the scenery is in full bloom. It’s as if the outdoors is calling us out to play.
Don’t you find that it’s too easy to let the time slip by without really grasping a hold of it and making the most of it? I certainly do, so that is exactly why I like to write things down and make a plan. Put things on a calendar. Tell the kids to remind you (that always works in my house!).
Feel free to download this printable Autumn List of Things To Do so you can keep track of all the goodness you want to make happen for your family!
Each family will have different places to go and things to see on their lists, so I am going to just give you a whole bunch of ideas to get you motivated! Here you go:
***Spend an afternoon at a corn maze.
***Go apple picking.
***Rake up the leaves and then jump in them. Repeat a few times.
***Teach the kids to bake pumpkin bread. Let them lick the spoon.
***Learn to knit or crochet.
***Take a picnic to the park.
***Make an apple pie. Be sure to have vanilla ice cream on hand!
***Watch a fall-ish movie like October Sky. Snack on popcorn and apple cider.
***Invite the neighbors over for a bonfire. Make hot dogs. Talk and laugh and tell stories!
***Spend the day making Halloween costumes for the family.
***Read a book on a cold afternoon.
***Make a “thankful” list.
***Go antiquing or thrifting or junking. You never know what treasures you will find!
***Go on a hike.
***Go to a football game.
***Make a wreath for your front door.
My hope is that all of those ideas create some excitement to get out and enjoy your family this fall! Seasons are short and so is childhood. You have to savor it while it lasts!
Have a lovely day, friends!
