Cherry season is here and it’s time to start baking! I love the sweet/tart zing of cherries and they taste oh-so good wrapped up in any kind of dough.
When my kids were little we lived in a house with a small cherry tree in the backyard. I have fond memories of sitting around the table with a large bucket of cherries while small hands were in charge of pitting. We always came up with enough for about 8 pies and I would freeze the cherries in bags until the cherry pie cravings hit. The cherries were always gone faster than I wanted them to be!
