GET YOUR FAMILY ORGANIZED WITH A DIY COMMAND CENTER
With the school year quickly approaching I find myself wanting to organize everything!
Summer is such a great time to relax and live on a loose schedule, but it is time to tighten things up and get a little more serious about life, don’t you think? I find it funny how much I look forward to relaxing during the summer, but when fall approaches I am over it!
I have rounded up some great ideas to get your family organized with a DIY command center! These ideas are more than functional, they are also stylish. For me, this is just more motivation to keep on task!

TIPS FOR CREATING YOUR OWN COMMAND CENTER:
- Keep it stylish. You can create a custom command center using items that coordinate with the rest of your home. Use similar color and textures to allow it to blend in.
- Before you start building, take some time to evaluate what you really need and want. What works for someone else may be entirely different than what works for your family.
- Get everyone involved. Find out what the whole family has going and make sure you have a spot to post all of it. One calendar for everyone might work, but you can also consider one calendar per person if the schedule is full.
- Use hooks, baskets, small shelves and planner pages to fill out your command center space.
- A command center is a perfect place for the kids to hang their backpacks after school. This way everyone knows where to find them in the morning rush.
