FARMHOUSE STYLE GIFT WRAP
It is time to start thinking about Christmas decorating—at least it is in my house!
Each year I have a theme that I carry throughout, from the tree to the wrapping, to the rest of the living room. I like a cohesive look! After all, why stop at the tree when you can go crazy and spread the love everywhere?
Am I right?
This post is not so much a tutorial as it is meant to be an inspiration for you to jump off and do your own thing. Basically, we are going to gather our materials and get to work.
You can do this on your own, or you can include the kids. If you include the kids just be sure to relax and enjoy what they are making. One way to keep a cohesive look AND include the kids is to stick to a color scheme. If you bring out all red and white materials, everything will match in the end.

Let’s get to creating!
The best way to find your “look” is to play around with the materials you have sitting in front of you. If you don’t like something, just start over. This is supposed to be fun—do not forget that!
Seeking perfection when you are creating is not conducive to peace. So breathe and relax and enjoy the process.
It is completely OK to settle on a look even though it is not exactly what you had in mind.
Fabric scraps work well to add color and print to your packages. Simply cut strips in the desired thickness and iron them before using. This creates a “clean” look. You can cut little thread pieces off, or you can leave them. Remember we are shooting for farmhouse style, which can be a bit less than perfect.
The best part of the holiday season is spending time with the people you love. Decorating, wrapping, cooking, and planning can all include everyone. When you involve your loved ones they feel more invested in the outcome, and it frees your time up for more important things.
