SPRING CLEANING CHECKLIST PRINTABLE
Spring Cleaning time is here! And so is a Spring Cleaning Checklist Printable to get you started!
I know I need a bit of a nudge to get going with my own spring cleaning. Although my house is generally very tidy and pretty clean, deep cleaning is not something I enjoy. At all.
Are you the same?
Honestly, I admire people who love to tackle the bathroom grout with a toothbrush. Because you generally will not be able to talk me into that, unless it is springtime!

We are in that lovely time of ear when the sun starts shining through our windows once again. The downside of that is that it illuminates all of the dirt, dust, and gunk that has accumulated over the fall and winter. Rather than break it all down into a giant, overwhelming list of jobs to tackle, I have put together an overall list that will get you from start to finish. Personally, I do not think there is a need to make myself crazy with a bunch of items I will not end up doing anyway.
I like to clean from top to bottom, and front left to right in a room. That way you are covering everything and it all ends up on the floor where you can wipe or vacuum it all up.
Let’s take a look at what needs to be done area by area.

Bathroom and Kitchen
These are always the biggies since they are “wet” rooms and tend to get a lot of use. You will want to make sure to clean all surfaces, as well as inside any appliances, sinks, and toilets. Some things to pay attention to are the floors and counters. If you have grouted tile you can clean it with a toothbrush, a little water, and baking soda. This is also a time to really clean like crazy around the toilet. Personally, I like to start with a large pile of towels because I go through a lot of them. A few of my favorite cleaners for the “wet rooms” are Bar Keeper’s Friend and Mr. Clean Meadows and Rain Scent (smells great). Of course, Windex works great as well. If mold and mildew are showing up in your sinks or tub, you can try one of these products.
Remember to dust and clean high spots like the top of the fridge and cupboards. Wipe down all lights switches, backsplashes, blinds and baseboards. Wash the shower curtain and replace the liner.
Living Areas
Moving furniture is a must in springtime. Getting under all of the living room pieces with the vacuum feels great! I always do a lot of washing as well. Couch or pillow covers, curtains and decorative blankets all get tossed in the washing machine (read care instructions first) and dried on the line. A quick go-over with the iron is generally all it takes. Add some scented spray starch to really make things look crisp and smell great!
Vacuuming or steam cleaning furniture will really brighten things up. And clean baseboards, window and door frames will also make a big difference.
Bedrooms
Moving furniture is necessary here too. You do not want to take this year’s dust into next year, do you? The bedrooms are very similar to the living areas in that you will want to wash bedding, vacuum after moving the furniture, and wipe down baseboards, blinds, window and door frames. You should also flip and rotate mattresses.
An additional thing that I always do when I spring clean is to replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. This is a good safety habit.
