I am so excited to be thinking about DIY Winter Wreaths Ideas!
This year has been challenging, to say the least, and it makes me happy to be considering snow falling and cold nights being cozy on the couch drinking hot chocolate.
What about you? Are you on the same page as me?
DIY wreaths are a great project to refresh your living room or to add some cuteness to your front door. They are easy to make and, in general, the supplies are cheap as long as you wait for sales.

In gathering up these lovely winter wreath ideas, I tried to stick with wreaths that are not Christmas themed. That way you can make one and keep it up all season.
One trick you can use to make your wreath a Christmas Wreath AND a Winter Wreath is to add some holiday elements and simply remove them when you take your decorations down.

And if you choose to make a bunch of tiny sweater wreaths they would be great little gifts for friends.
Old sweaters in all kinds of colors can be found at the thrift store without breaking your budget. And these tiny pinecones will be the perfect size (feel free to paint the tips of the cones with chalk paint!).

Are you wondering how to pick the perfect DIY Winter Wreath Tutorial? The things to consider are color, texture, and size. Where will you be hanging your wreath? The living room might need a smaller wreath than the front door.
Another thing to consider is your skill level in crafting. If you are a beginner, pick something that looks simple and then read over or watch the tutorial to decide if you want to make it. Honestly, it suits me just fine to start with a simple project and work my way up. That builds confidence when it comes to “making”.
I will be honest and tell you that there are projects that I start and never finish. OR when I do finish, it looks nothing like I planned. So it gets set aside, taken apart, or thrown in the trash. This is all part of being creative and trying new things. Sometimes I learn the most from projects that don’t work out.
So pick one and start making!

Something I love about a beautiful Winter Wreath for the front door is that it is so very welcoming. And Winter is one of those seasons that we all need a bit of welcoming in our lives.
It is too easy to get stuck at home all the time with nowhere to go. Invite your friends over for hot chocolate and cookies or a girl’s craft night. In fact, a winter wreath is a perfect project to make with a group of girlfriends!
Plus when the days are cold and the nights are long, a good craft project can make all the difference. Creating is a great way to pass the time and it leads to a fun and pretty project that refreshes your living space.
Be sure to have all of your supplies on hand when you starting making your Winter Wreath. It is frustrating to get started only to realize that you have to stop and make a visit to the store. The tutorials listed all have supply lists and many of them have links so you can buy your supplies online. Which is great if you don’t have a craft store close by (like me!).
I would love to hear if you are going to attempt one of these wreath projects. I will be making the sweater wreath for my front door and keeping it displayed all season. And I might even make some small sweater wreaths for my girlfriends. I know they will be well received and happily displayed.
Happy crafting!
