COLORADO AT IT’S BEST

Hello!  Today I want to show you Colorado at it’s best! It’s fall and the aspens are turning and it’s lovely outside!

Since I moved here, almost 20 years ago, each fall I insist on driving through the mountains at least once.  The colors on display vary from year to year based on temperature and rainfall, but every year it’s amazing in it’s own way.  The leaves dance in the buttery sunlight and flutter in the wind, and believe it or  not, there is no other way to say that.

One of my favorites parts of the fall colors is that it looks like God made us a quilt.  A perfectly pieced quilt of color and texture and form.  A quilt that only He can make and display.  I love quilting, but nothing I have ever made even begins to compare to the quilt I saw on the winding roads as we drove this weekend.

Perfection.

I grew up in Southern California where the seasons happen only minimally, and I had never experienced fall’s goodness until I was in my 20’s and had kids of my own.  I have been addicted ever since.  The mountains and the colors they display keep me content when the beach calls my name.

Honestly, living somewhere without mountains or beaches would be a big “no” for me.  I need at least one of those!

One of things I love about the fall colors is that it just feels so peaceful.  After all of the activity of summer (which I LOVE!), it is so good to wind down and soak it all in.  Just taking the time to admire the beauty:

The view was stunningly beautiful!  Every year I see this view, but every year it’s brand-new!
