DIY PROJECT: A CHECKLIST
Hello!
So glad you stopped by today!
Lately, I have been able to find a bit of time for some fun DIY projects! My schedule has been crazy since the beginning of the year so time for making things has been in short supply.
One thing I did is to get rid of a bunch of stuff in my garage. I have accumulated a ton of pieces either through yard sales or friends giving me items. Going through it all and giving away all but the best has not only sparked my desire to do something with it all, it has also given me room to move around in my garage! Prior to my clean out, I was having to paint, sand, and repurpose in my backyard. No more. The garage is up and running for a DIY project!
One thing that I struggle with when starting something new is the need to organize it in my head. If I do not take the time to figure out what is needed and what the steps are, I will generally not even start. The unknown tends to be stressful for me, so I try to create some “knowns” in my life.

So I created a fun checklist for us!
Prior to creating this checklist, I was using a 70-sheet notebook to stuff in order. Now I am able to stay on top of what I need to do with a cute checklist.
Anytime you add a bit of cute to life it gets better, don’t you think?
This list has it all!
Skills And Help Needed
Many projects bring a list of stuff to learn. And questions to ask. And, yes, I am saying that in order to DIY you have to ask for help sometimes. It is all part of the process. YouTube is GREAT for this type of thing, but I also have a number of friends that I go to regularly to ask “how do I do this?”! Asking a question on my personal Facebook page works well too and generally gives me a few ideas to try.
Supplies to Purchase
I LOVE Home Depot, but I dislike going there over and over during a project. Sitting down and getting all the goods I need on paper is usually one of my first steps.
Project Steps
Thinking through a project from the beginning is a good way to figure out how much time you need to work on something. You will be able to get an idea of what you need to buy and what you need to make happen.
Progress Notes
Especially with big projects, it helps to keep track of where you started and where you are right now. We all need to be reminded that progress is a-happenin’, don’t you think?
